Four-prong or six-prong with prongs at the north–south–east–west positions works best for an oval. A solitaire lets the oval do everything; a halo adds a frame of smaller diamonds and makes the centre look 25–30% larger; a three stone setting flanks the centre with two accent diamonds.

What to expect on the finger

A 1 ct oval is about 7.7 × 5.7mm. Most Riyanika customers choose between 1 ct and 2 ct for a oval centre. Lab-grown diamonds give you the same brilliance as a mined diamond at roughly 40–60% of the price, which means you can comfortably size up the centre stone.
