Toi et Moi (you and me) is a two-stone setting where two diamonds sit side by side, often in different shapes. It is one of the oldest engagement ring traditions , Napoleon proposed to Joséphine with a Toi et Moi. And has come back into fashion in the last decade.

Best settings for a Toi et Moi centre stone

Each stone is held in its own prong setting; the bands twist or angle to bring the stones together. A solitaire lets the Toi et Moi do everything; a halo adds a frame of smaller diamonds and makes the centre look 25–30% larger; a three stone setting flanks the centre with two accent diamonds.

What to expect on the finger

Toi et Moi rings often pair two 0.75–1 ct stones, giving 1.5–2 tcw across the design. Most Riyanika customers choose between 1 ct and 2 ct for a Toi et Moi centre.
